Trump, Sanders, and the US Primaries: a Dialogue on American Populism

Please join the Centre for the Study of Political Ideologies and the Department of American and Canadian Studies’s Politics and Foreign Policy research cluster for a talk on Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders and the rise of American populism. Professor Charles Postel from San Francisco State University, a world leading expert on American populism and author of the Bancroft Prize winner The Populist Vision (2007), will discuss the recent evolution of the primary campaigns in light of the historical origins of American populism, which date back to the late nineteenth century.
Charles Postel will be in conversation with Dr. Dean Blackburn (Department of History) and Lorenzo Costaguta (Department of American and Canadian Studies).
