Opportunities for US history study at Newcastle University

A pot of £1 million has been allocated for PhD studentships in the arts, humanities, and social sciences  at Newcastle University via the Research Excellence Academy.

Newcastle’s Americanists in the School of History Classics and Archaeology are delighted to invite enquiries about studying with us, regardless of topic, although we have particular strengths in the American South, the Civil War, Emancipation and Reconstruction, nationalism, race and labour activism, oral history and memory, and the civil rights movement.
