The Department of Art History, Film and Visual Studies invites applications for a Chair in British and American art, with a preference for candidates focusing on the period after 1800.

The post is tenable from 1st September 2015.

The Department is committed to the highest quality scholarship and research. Building on its successful REF2014 performance, the successful candidate will be expected to have a record of internationally leading research and publications, as well as an ability to demonstrate research leadership. This post is central to the development of the Department, and the postholder will be expected to make a major contribution to the strategic growth of art history at Birmingham.
