The University of St.Gallen seeks to appoint for 6 years from 1 February 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter an Assistant Professor of American Studies.
This newly created post is devoted to examining the impact of digital media on American society and culture. The successful candidate will complement and collaborate with colleagues in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences in Media Studies, American Studies, Sociology and History.
Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant discipline from the Social Sciences or Humanities and interdisciplinary research interests, teaching experience and the ability to teach at university level in English in areas that are compatible with the university’s core fields of Management, Economics, Law, and International Affairs, and a willingness to engage in expanding the University’s international networks.
The University has set a priority of increasing the number of international scholars among its faculty. It actively pursues a policy of diversity and gender equality in all areas of its activities.
