Wednesday, September 17th, 2014 10.30 – 16.30 Institute of the Americas The sixth of The Native Studies Research Network’s biennial one-day London Colloquia will take place at the Institute of the Americas, London. This is an event where all can present Work-in-Progress and a perfect opportunity to get feedback on ideas you are developing, within a friendly and relaxed intellectual environment. If you have an article that is not quite ready to send off, a nearly-finished chapter, or a new idea you want to test out, this is a great venue to benefit from the responses of informed colleagues, and, of course, a chance to catch up with everyone. All UK scholars working on indigenous topics, in whatever discipline, are very welcome to join. If you wish to attend this event, please first sign up for membership on the website: Please send a one page abstract to: DEADLINE: July 18th, 2014 Papers will be grouped together for discussion, so do send proposals for individual papers, or even panels (which could be composed of papers on similar topics, or papers given by members at a single institution, etc). This is an especially useful event for their postgraduate members, so it would be very nice to see one or two present. As those who have attended in previous years can verify, this is an ideal forum to discuss all of the new areas and topics on which we’re working. Cost: £20.00 [including lunch and teas & coffees] |
