Teaching Associate in Twentieth Century American History, University of Sheffield

The Department of History at the University of Sheffield is seeking to appoint to a fixed-term Teaching Associate in Twentieth Century American History.

The post-holder will deliver teaching and carry out assessment and evaluation of modules at all levels. Specifically the successful candidate will be required to take full responsibility for delivery of a level 3 special subject: HST3138/3139 The United States and the Cold War, 1945-1975; a level 2 document option; a level 2 option; and contribute to teaching on HST118 American History: From Settlements to Superpower. The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise dissertations arising from the special subject; contribute to other teaching as necessary; mark coursework and examinations as required.

The post-holder will have a good honours degree and will have completed the requirements for a PhD (or have equivalent experience) in a relevant subject area.  They will also have excellent communication skills and organisational skills with a proven teaching ability at undergraduate level and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues in teaching and administration endeavour.

The post is fixed-term with a start date of 1 September 2016 and an end date of 30 June 2017.
