David Milne–Worldmaking (University of Nottingham)

April 18, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

In this talk, Dr David Milne of the University of East Anglia will talk about his new book Worldmaking: The Art and Science of American Diplomacy, which was published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in 2015. Worldmaking is a fresh and compelling new take on the history of American diplomacy. Rather than retracing a familiar story of realism versus idealism, Milne suggests that U.S. foreign policy has also been crucially divided between those who view statecraft as an art and those who believe it can aspire toward the certainties of science. Further details about the book and the author can be found here: http://us.macmillan.com/worldmaking/davidmilne
