Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Fellow in the Department of Politics and International Studies (PAIS). The successful candidate will be required to undertake teaching duties in the area of the Politics and Foreign Policy of the United States in order to support the work of the Department and develop and enhance its teaching reputation, both internally and externally. The post is for a fixed term of 12 months.

You will possess an honours degree or equivalent and a PhD or equivalent (awarded or near completion) in a relevant discipline is desirable. You will have the ability and willingness to teach modules in US Politics and US Foreign and Security Policy at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will be module director on the second year undergraduate Politics of the USA module and the third year United States Foreign Policy, teaching a combination of lectures and seminars. You will also be module director for the core modules on the MA in US Foreign Policy – United States Foreign Policy and United States Security Policy – taught through two-hour seminars.

You will have a commitment to use and develop e-learning tools as well as innovative teaching techniques within the classroom. You will also be willing to work with the International Relations/International Security research grouping to develop its research and teaching profile, assist in the development of new modules and programmes, and contribute to devising overall departmental teaching strategy.
