Job: Fixed Term Teaching Fellow in American Politics (KCL)

King’s College London wishes to appoint a Teaching Fellow with expertise in American politics and foreign policy to support its programmes in this area. Candidates must have completed or be near completion of a PhD in a related subject area and possess a proven track record in teaching at undergraduate and master’s level. The successful candidate will be based in the Institute of North American Studies but also expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the School of Global Affairs and/or the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy.

Responsibilities will include:
• Undertaking teaching and assessment activities across the School of Global Affairs modules on US foreign policy and political economy, specifically American Political Thought and American Empire
• Participating in research on and evaluation of American politics modules
• Supporting the management and administration of American politics teaching
• Undertaking supervisory/pastoral activities for students

This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience, within the Grade 6 scale, currently £32,277 to £38,511 per annum, plus £2,323 London Allowance per annum.
