Temprary Sessional Lecturer: Canterbury Christ Church University

The American Studies Programme at Canterbury Christ Church University seeks to appoint a temporary sessional lecturer with effect from 5th January 2015 to teach three American politics modules (covering research leave). The role will be hourly paid.

American Studies sits within the School of Humanities, which encompasses undergraduate programmes in American Studies, Archaeology, Creative and Professional Writing, English Literature, History, and Theology & Religious Studies. The School has a strong commitment to high quality teaching, learning and the student experience, as is demonstrated through very positive student satisfaction rates in the NSS. The successful applicant will based at a campus located within a UNESCO world heritage site in the city of Canterbury, one of the safest university cities in England & Wales.The term runs from Monday,January 5th to Friday March 5th and the teaching encompasses the following modules:

Year 1 module: American Political Culture and the American Dream
Wednesdays 0900hrs – 1100hrs
Year 2 module: Political Concepts in 21st Century America
Tuesdays 1300hrs – 1500hrs
Year 3 module: The Contemporary Presidency
Mondays 1300hrs – 1500hrs
