The successful applicant will be required to cover the area named above in research and teaching.
Appointment requirements are governed by Article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz).

Qualified candidates have experience in covering the above mentioned field including the entire North American region in research and teaching. A focus on domestic politics and on socio-political issues in the U.S. and Canada is desirable. Qualified candidates have a strong research background and proven track record of publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals. Proficiency in English is essential. She or he will have experience with third party funding and in the management and implementation of knowledge transfer activities (such as spin-offs).

The appointee will participate in the Graduate School of North American Studies (GSNAS) and in interdisciplinary research alliances. She or he must be prepared to teach in all courses of the JFK Institute and the Otto Suhr Institute of Political Science and to cooperate with colleagues of all divisions of these Institutes.

The appointed professor will be prepared to contribute to the university’s internationalization strategy and address questions of Gender Studies in research and teaching as well as provide departmental service.
