You will have expertise in gender within the field of social and political science and will further the School’s international reputation for research in Social and Political Science and its commitment to excellence in teaching and administration.
This is a full time and open ended position which is available from 1st August 2015, or as soon as possible thereafter. Consideration will be given to applications on a part-time and job-share basis.
Salary: £38,511 – £45,954 per annum

2. Job Purpose
We seek to appoint an outstanding researcher and teacher in the field of social or political science with expertise in gender who will further the School’s reputation in the field of gender scholarship.
It is essential that the successful candidate presents a research profile, in both experience to date and in future potential, which is at the forefront of her/his area of activity. S/he will also demonstrate experience, achievement and outstanding potential reflected in a growing personal teaching and supervisory portfolio. The person appointed will also be expected to play a full part in the collegial life of their Subject Group, the School and the networks of gender scholars across the University.
The post is open to candidates with specialist interests in the study of gender in any field of social and political science as represented by the Subject Groups in the School (see list below). The successful candidate will be hosted by their cognate Subject Group and will contribute to teaching at Subject Group and School levels.
Applicants should specify at the outset of their letter of application the SSPS Subject Group(s) with which their academic profile most closely aligns. Applications should include one research article in .pdf format.
