Friday 23rd & Saturday 24th September 2016

The organisers are pleased to invite you to attend a symposium in celebration of Mildred Taylor’s Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. The conference is being organised by the Cambridge/Homerton Research and Teaching Centre for Children’s

The theme is the Great Depression in children’s literature, with a particular focus on Mildred Taylor’s work.

The organisers are seeking proposals for papers for panel sessions.

The organisers are also holding a teachers’ event to end the symposium in which they will discuss the use of Taylor’s work and other texts with 1930s American settings in the classroom.

Please contact either Sarah Hardstaff (sflh2@cam.ac.uk) or Dawn Sardella-Ayres (ds632@cam.ac.uk) with any questions.
