CFP: HOTCUS Annual Conference (University of East Anglia)

The 2015 HOTCUS Annual Conference will be hosted by the University of East Anglia, Norwich on 26-28 June 2015.

Plenary Speaker: Professor Gary Gerstle (University of Cambridge)

Call for Papers:

Papers from members or non-members are requested on all topics concerning the history of the United States from 1890 to the present. Individual or panel proposals are welcome (panels should have no more than three presenters in total).

Topics for papers or panels might include:

  1. Environmental history

  2. Urban history

  3. Border history

  4. Native American history

  5. Cultural and intellectual history

  6. International and transnational history

  7. Historiography and memory

  8. Political and policy history

  9. Race and racism

  10. Gender and sexuality

  11. Citizenship and immigration

  12. Capitalism and economics

  13. Religion

  14. Domesticity and the home

  15. Conservatism and liberalism

Please send a brief CV and a summary of the proposed paper or panel of no more than 300 words per paper by 13 March 2015 to BOTH the conference organizer, Emma Long, and the HOTCUS Events Secretary, Nick Witham:

The plenary lecture and conference dinner will be held at the Hostry at Norwich Cathedral on the evening of 26 June with other sessions and activities taking place on the UEA campus.
