BAAS ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2017
The 62nd Annual British Association for American Studies conference will take place 6-8 April, 2017, at Canterbury Christ Church University.
The Annual BAAS Conference brings together scholars from all across the world to speak on any subject related to furthering our understanding of the United States. Delegates are warmly invited to attend a diverse range of papers and roundtables by specialists in American history, culture, literature, politics, art, film, and any combination of the above.

We are thrilled this year to be joined by three eminent leaders in the field of American Studies, who have been invited to present plenary lectures:

Marjorie Spruill (University of Southern California)
Brian Ward (Northumbria University)
Registration for the conference is now open. Please note that registration includes attendance at all sessions (including plenaries), the drinks receptions, and tea and coffee and lunch on all three days. Registration does not include the banquet or accommodation (see below). Conference Registration rates are as follows:
- Members’ Rate: £160.00
- Student Members’ Rate: £90.00
Members’ registrations booked before 1 March 2017 will receive an “earlybird” discount of £30. The discount will be applied automatically as you proceed through the booking system.
