The School of Art, Media and American Studies at the University of East Anglia is inviting applications to our PhD programme. The Department of American Studies holds a wealth of expertise in different areas and you may wish to consult our list of staff and their research interests for guidance on possible supervisory expertise:https://www.uea.ac.uk/american-studies/people.
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at UEA is a member of CHASE (with Sussex, Kent, Goldsmiths, Essex, The Courtauld and the Open University), a consortium that was recently awarded an AHRC Block Grant Partnership, which provides a series of studentships covering full-fees and a maintenance grant. This is in addition to 15 Faculty and 6 School studentships fully matched to AHRC rate, 10 Full-Fee Waivers and 10 Partial-Fee Waivers across the School.
If you are interested in applying for a PhD in American Studies at UEA, please contact the School’s Director of Postgraduate Research Karina Aveyard (K.Aveyard@uea.ac.uk) who will help guide you through the process.
Those interested in MA applications should contact Dr Sarah Monks, the School’s admissions officer, at S.Monks@uea.ac.uk in the first instance.
The School’s deadline for applications (including all supporting information such as references) is Friday 12th December 2014, so it is important that prospective applicants contact the School as a matter of urgency to start the application process, preferably no later than early November.
