The Department of Film Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at King’s College London is seeking to make an appointment at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer Level (equivalent to Assistant or Associate Professor) to begin Autumn 2016. They aim to build on the department’s international reputation for teaching and research, to enhance current strengths, and to grow in new directions. They seek to appoint a scholar in American film and media. Theyparticularly welcome applicants with interests in some of the following areas: new media, media archaeology, institutional or technological approaches to film and media history, and popular screen cultures.
Details
The successful candidate would be expected to actively contribute to the design and delivery of teaching in the department at all levels, BA, MA, and PhD, to undertake and publish research, whose high quality and output will enhance the department’s REF submission, to undertake administration, and to play a role in academic leadership in this regard, as required by the Head of Department.

Salary
The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications, within the Grade 6 to 8 scale, currently £32,277 to £56,482, per annum plus £2,323 per annum London Allowance.
