BrANCH Postgraduate and Early Career Workshop
18 March 2016
The organisers are pleased to invite papers for the BrANCH postgraduate and early career workshop, to be held at Keele University on March 18th, 2016. The workshop provides a forum for the constructive consideration and discussion of thesis chapters, potential journal submissions and conference papers. Submissions are encouraged for individual papers from postgraduate and early career academics working on all aspects of US history in the long nineteenth century.
This year’s workshop will also include two short sessions from BrANCH members on post-PhD job applications within US history and applying for research funding.
The orgainsers intend the workshop to become a valuable medium for young scholars to bring exciting new scholarship to the table. The workshop also provides an excellent opportunity for those of us at the early stages of academic careers to meet up outside the annual BrANCH conference. Limited funding is available to subsidise the travel of those presenting their work.
The organisers intend to circulate papers ahead of the workshop. In order to give all submissions due consideration, brief proposals of no more than 300 words should be submitted by 12th February 2016. Submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are interested in submitting a paper, or would like to register your interest in attending, the organisers look forward to hearing from you.
