For the first in our 2022-2023 series of ‘Eyes on Events’ we talked to Emma Rhodes (PhD Candidate, University of Leicester) about the HOTCUS 2022 PG and ECR Conference, ‘Poverty and (In)Equality in U.S. History’. We discussed the current intellectual, political, and economic conditions that make discussing poverty and inequality so urgent; learnt Emma’s tips for making the most of the conference experience; and got some recommendations for the best places to visit and enjoy a post-conference meal in Leicester.
